Prenatal Yoga

Prenatal yoga is a supportive, natural and empowering way to nourish your body, inspire wellness and connectivity throughout your entire pregnancy. Learn simple and safe tailored yoga postures designed to alleviate stress and anxiety, aches and pains associated with your changing body, as well as helping to prepare the body for labour and early motherhood. Expect yoga poses, breath work, meditations, visualisations and breath work. It's not necessary to have previous yoga experience to attend prenatal yoga classes. For many women it may be the first time they have practiced yoga.

Practicing yoga during pregnancy offers many physical benefits which include:

  • Reducing stress hormones
  • Improved sleep
  • Strengthening the pelvic floor muscles
  • Opening the hips
  • Decreasing the tension of the muscles and joints
  • Improved blood circulation
  • Improves posture, which relieves pain in the lower back and knees (a common problem in pregnancy)
  • Reduced blood pressure
  • Benefits the central nervous and endocrine systems
  • Babies who have experienced yoga while in their mother’s womb already recognise relaxed breath patterns and readily respond to all the sounds and movements of the practices
