šŸ‘¶šŸ½ Baby Status: Baby is about the size of a lime (6cm long and 14 grams). The placenta has developed, which has lessened the load on my body and is supplying baby with oxygen. This week we had the Week 12 Nuchal Translucency Ultrasound and blood test that detects the risk of a number of chromosomal abnormalities such as Down Syndrome. Everything looked good and baby is low risk of chromosomal abnormalities. During the scan we could see Bub bouncing around and all 10 little fingers and toes.

šŸ¤°šŸ½ Mama's Status: I've finally feeling back to myself most of the time. I'm no longer feeling that constant exhaustion and feeling good at around 9 hours sleep every night. This week I travelled from Brisbane to Melbourne for work and it felt okay - a few weeks back this would have seemed impossible! It feels good to feel good again šŸ™ŒšŸ½ Iā€™ve made Guillaume swap sides of the bed with me. He now had the ocean side and I have the toilet side to pee one thousand times throughout the night (yay).

Weight: + 2.5 kg. This week my belly has well and truly popped. My lower belly feels hard all the time. It's quite obvious in clothing and there is no hope of hiding this lil bump anymore! It's the first thing friends and family comment on.

Diet: After a few weeks of living off dry toast because it was all morning sickness would allow, I'm back on my usual diet (for the most part). Instead of eating 3 meals a day I'm eating 6 small meals every 2-3 hours. I find nausea returns if I have an empty stomach or if my stomach is too full. As an example, this is what I ate today:

Breaky: 2 slices of sourdough with raspberry jam

Snack: Green apple + homemade vegan banana bread

Lunch: Vegan Banh Mi Sandwhich

Snack: Pineapple

Dinner: Vegan fried rice

Aversions: Aversion to food has definitely subsided and am eating most foods again (except tofu - feel like I'll never eat this again!). Still finding shower time challenging as the smell of body washes, facial cleansers, toothpaste, body lotions is still overwhelming. I've started showering in the spare shower because I can't stand the smell of all the products.

Cravings: This week I've been obsessed with French raspberry jam on toast šŸ“šŸ“ Lil tip - raspberry is helps strengthen the uterus and improve outcome of labour.

Products I'm loving: This week I'm trying out the Lush Body Conditioner. My train of thought with this one is that if blend both body wash and body moisturiser into one step, there's less gagging over the strong scents lol.

Supplements: The SmartyPants Prenatal Vegetarian Gummies still are going so well for me. Easy to take, easy to digest. They just work and will probably continue these all throughout the pregnancy and post natal. Started also taking magnesium which plays important role in maintaining nerve and muscle, can help ease labour and is great for anxiety.

Pregnancy Exercises: This week has been full on with my travel and teaching yoga. Guillaume has also been away in Perth. So I've kept it gentle with morning walks and stretching.

Yoga Practice: Starting to get harder with step-throughs and forward folds this week.

Self Care Rituals: Bubble baths are something that have been my little non-negotiable lately. Can't praise them enough. Light some candles, fill the bath, throw in some calming salts, pop on my Savasana Playlist, and give the belly and Bub a little massage whilst doing breathing techniques šŸ› šŸ› šŸ›
